7:30 am: Pick up in San Sebastian hotels or residences (meeting point in Bilbao at 8:30), where you will meet your guide and get ready for a great day in Rioja!

RISCAL AND YSIOS WINE TOUR DETAILS
Marques de Riscal Winery
Your tour will begin with a full winery visit to the best winery in the world in 2025, Marques Riscal. The winery was establishing 1858, and in 2006 it added a Luxury Collection Hotel designed by world famous architect Frank Gehry.
Riscal is a big production winery with over 6 million bottles per year. It is specially known for the Reservas wine. In your winery tour you will learn all about the wine making process, the types of grapes they use, the fermentation and aging areas, and more. After your tour you will enjoy a tasting of three of their premium wines together with some food specialties.
Ysios Winery
Ysios winery is a boutique winery with a production of around 100,000 bottles a year. Some of their premium high-quality wines include Lagunazuri, Las Naves or El Nogal (all with 95 points and up). Ysios produces three singular vineyard wines, the highest recognition for quality in Rioja. In this winery, you will enjoy a sitting tasting of two of their premium wines together with some cold meats and cheese.
Ysios has become the image of La Rioja Alavesa. Its awesome building designed by world famous spanish architect Santiago Calatrava (Oculus station NYC), is a reference for modern architecture that can’t be missed.
Laguardia Medieval Town
Laguardia is considered one of the top 10 most beautiful towns in Spain. It was established in the year 908 by king of Navarre Sancho Abarca as a military stronghold. With a little over 1000 residents, Laguardia is the cultural and commerce center of the Rioja Alavesa wine region. It is well known for its 17th century wine cellars, the perfectly maintained historic wall, and its astonishing views of the wine fields all around the town. Our visit will include a guided city tour, with stops for pictures and even for some shopping.
Three Course Local Lunch
We believe that the best addition to a full day Rioja wine tour is to sit down and enjoy a three course meal like locals do; not a fancy lunch but a healthy and local meal. Rioja favorite dishes include vegetables menestra, beans stew, potatoes with chorizo, cod with peppers and tomatoes, veal stew, and desserts such as flan, cuajada or pears cooked in red wine. All of it together with Rioja wine included in your price.

RISCAL AND YSIOS WINE TOUR FAQS
In San Sebastian we pick up in all hotels and residences. In Bilbao, on the other hand, we pick up all our guests by Bertiz Bakery at the intersection of Henao and Iparragirre streets.
The tour lasts between 9 to 10+ hours, lasting a little longer from San Sebastian than from Bilbao.
Yes, we take care of all tasting fees in the wineries, and of wine at lunch!
Visit to both Marques de Riscal and Ysios wineries, with wine tastings in both of them together with local cold meats and cheese, a city tour of the medieval town of Laguardia, and a three course lunch at a local restaurant with wine and dessert. And of course transportation, gas and tolls, pick up and drop off.
Gratuities for your driver, which are optional but gratefully appreciated, and any other thing not included in the tour.
You might want to bring a small bottle of water (if you bring a big one please don’t put it in the pockets of the van’s seats so they don’t get stretched), and your phone to take amazing photos.
